Mary Chen, founder, publisher and editor of CHALLENGES has two boys; including William, a young adult born with Learning Disabilities.

As a freelance writer for the past 15 years, she has contributed to magazines, corporate publications and online media, as well as anchored three columns (Health, Career, Foreign Students) in the Sunday Mail, a National weekend paper of the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) group.

She currently contributes to One Voice, a monthly column on disability issues in The Star.

A Keen promoter of disability awareness, she helped initiated a weekly column between 1994 and 1995 on Special education in Sunday Mail written by then Universiti Malaya lecturer Sandiyao Sebastian.

Today, her vision is to empower with a new  disability media presence of, by and for Malaysians with Disabilities.
